Baking Tips!- Filling an Icing Bag
Filling an icing bag can prove to be difficult, if your not sure of the best way to do so. This might seem like a simple task, and it most definitely is if you follow these few tips on doing so.
I love cooking and baking. But, what I love the most is the creative and artistic side of the culinary world. There isn’t a thing that satisfies me more than decorating a beautiful cake or intricate cookie. Nothing can put a wrench in your gears more than an icing bag covered in goo. Here I will show you how to minimize the mess so you can get straight to decorating!
Fold the frosting bag sides over the sides of the glass to help get your delicious buttercream inside the bag, where it belongs.
You’ve got to get the frosting in there before you can start decorating, right?! start spooning the sweet goodness in.
Pull up those sides so you can remove the decorating bag from the glass, and your hands stay wonderfully clean. This tip is wonderful. You want to get the frosting or icing towards the tip of the bag so it doesn’t squeeze out the open end. A bench scraper is just the perfect tool for that.
Twist the bag to keep the icing where it belongs, unless you like icing on your hands? It is pretty tasty. Squeezing out any air bubbles is an important step. If you don’t get those air bubbles out they will surprise you and blurb all over your cake as your frosting. Not a fun surprise. Just squeeze the bag over your frosting container or glass until you hear the pop of released air.
Now you are all ready to start decorating all your wonderful baked goods, and stress free from icing bag ick!
