What was Cooking over the Weekend?
Pink, Pearls, Bows, and Baby Showers!
This weekend was a fun one! I got to be the lucky chef who got to create the cake for this adorable baby shower. One of Aaron’s cousins was having their baby shower on Saturday. This post can’t be better timed, as she is in labor to have an awesome little girl as I type.
I had so much fun doing this cake based off of her awesome ideas. I went with pink quilted fondant, candy pearls, and big white bows. I also went with my Cherry Chip cake recipe w/ Cream Cheese Buttercream. This recipe is be drafted for a cookbook in the hopefully near future. It’s super tasty with chopped maraschino cherries embedded in a moist white cake.
I not only had fun creating the cake, but I had a great time at the shower as well! Tons of games, conversation, good food, and great people.
Let’s all wish the super soon, Mommy to be, good luck in the delivery room.
